Martha M. Williams INMAN, SC-- Martha McIntosh Williams, 87, died on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at RoseCrest Retirement Community in Inman, SC. Martha was a vital person who loved her family and loved to laugh and sing. She was a member of Inman First Baptist Church where she served as a teacher of adults. A few weeks ago, surrounded by her family, she listened as her four sons sang quartet harmonies to her. She smiled and said, "I love this day." She also said, "I taught my boys to sing." At age 14 Martha sang on her own radio show. Two years ago she starred on a YouTube video, singing "A Good Man Is Hard to Find." She always said, "I want to die laughing." She got her wish. She is survived by her four sons, Tracy Melvin Williams, Jr. (Jan), William Kenneth Williams, Barry Michael Williams (Catherine), and Alan Morris Williams (Rhonda). She has eight grandchildren and two great-grand children. She was predeceased by her husband, Tracy M. Williams; and by her sister, Elizabeth W. Short. A visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Petty Funeral Home in Landrum, SC, with a Service of Thanksgiving to follow at 3:00 PM in the Petty Chapel. Burial will be on Friday, February 26, 2010, at 11:30 AM at Dockery Cemetery in Rockingham, NC.
