MARJORIE ELIZABETH TOWER ELMIRA - Marjorie Elizabeth Tower, age 90, of Elmira, NY, formerly of Newfield, NY. She was born December 24, 1916 in Elmira, daughter of the late Ward and Dorothy (Pine) Genung and passed away Sunday, September 9, 2007, at Bethany Manor. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Florence and Edward Mathews, Louise and James Graham, Irene and Wilbur Smith and James Nelson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joan Tower of Reynoldsburg, OH; granddaughters, Karen (Adam) Furst of Webster, NY, Amanda (Jason) Hazlak of Interlaken, NY; stepgrandchildren, William (Carrie) Westlake of Trumansburg, NY, Timothy (Mary) Westlake of Ovid, NY, and Matthew Westlake of Reynoldsburg, OH; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Furst of Webster, NY, and Jackson Hazlak of Interlaken, NY; sister, Doris Nelson of Elmira; along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tower was employed with F. W. Woolworth in Elmira, Horseheads and retired from the Ithaca store. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, September 11th, from 6 to 8 p.m. Her funeral service will be held there on Wednesday, September 12th, at 10 a.m. Rev. Robert Atkins will officiate. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Halsey Valley Cemetery.
