Marie Rose Cormier, On November 22, 2008, Marie Rose Cormier (nee Lebrun) died peacefully, with her family at her side, at the Englehart and District Hospital. She was born in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, on October 16, 1941 to Laurie Mulvihill. Educated in Larder Lake, she married Jean Robert Cormier there on May 24, 1958. Mrs. Cormier was a homemaker and the mother of seven boys. She enjoyed evening card games with family, listening to her country music and cooking big meals and desserts for family dinners. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Cormier is survived by her sons Roger (Jane) of Kitchener, Denis (Bertha) of Englehart, Donald (Colette) of Elk Lake, Richard (Kathy) of Elk Lake, Wayne (Pam) of Elk Lake, Brian of Elk Lake and Jean Paul (Chantal) of Kirkland Lake; grandchildren Melissa, Lynne, Joe, Stephanie, Melanie, Dylan, Devon, Noah, Ashley, Jeremy, Josh, Kalene, Jason and Tyler; brothers David Roy (Audrey) of Timmins, Roger Roy (Gail) of Kirkland Lake, Gerry Roy (Carol) of Timmins; sister Pauline (Richard) Lafleche of Kirkland Lake; and many sisters- and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jean Robert Cormier in 2006, mother Laurence Mulvihill in 1997 and sister Jeanine Roy in 1998. The funeral was arranged by McDonald Funeral Home of Englehart with a Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, November 29 at the Legion Hall in Elk Lake. It begins at 1 p.m. and all are welcome. In memory contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
