Lee, Marie GrafOct. 8, 2007With great sadness, the family of Marie Graf Lee announces her passing on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at the age of 84.Marie loved her family, reading, crossword puzzles, Trivial Pursuit and her exercise class.She was the wife for 58 years of Donald R. Lee, who preceded her. She was the mother of D. Bruce Lee and his wife, Joann, of Port Orange, Judith Grant and her husband, Richard Saccone, of Centerville, Mass., and Barbara Johnston and her husband, James, of Belmont. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Clarke of West Yarmouth, and her brother, John Graf of Needham.Marie was the daughter of Hans and Florence Graf and was born in Ridley Park, Pa., in 1923, but spent most of her life in Newton, Mass. There she grew up, graduated from Newton High School in 1941, married and raised her family.In 1970 she and her husband moved to West Yarmouth, where she taught at Happy Day Nursery School. Upon retirement, they became Florida residents, wintering in Port Charlotte and summering in Yarmouth. It was during this time in her life that she began volunteering at Mayflower Nursing Home in West Yarmouth and leading the exercise class in her Port Charlotte neighborhood.Interment and memorial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to your local library or favorite charitable organization.
