Margaret Shackleford Cox, 82, of 963-C Overbrook Drive, died Sept. 15, 2002, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Arbe and Belle Guest Shackleford, and was wife of the late John B. Cox. She was a retired employee and a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was a former member of Piedmont Heights Baptist Church in Piedmont, and was a member of Saints Alive Adult Choir in Piedmont. She is survived by a son, the Rev. Ronnie Cox, of Gaffney; a brother, William Fred Shackleford, of Piedmont; two grandchildren, Jennifer Spencer of Gaffney and Phillip Cox of Aiken; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew Spencer and Marley Spencer, both of Gaffney. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home; and, after the service at the cemetery. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenville Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Bobby Lindsey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 822 Providence Road, Gaffney, SC 29341; or Piedmont Heights Baptist Church, P.O. Box 36, Piedmont, S.C. 29673. The family is at 131 Woodview Drive, Gaffney.
