Mary Query, a New City resident for over 35 years passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on October 4, 2001. She was born Vincenza Maria Giuseppe Fusco in 1900 in Positano, Italy. She arrived in Manhattan at the age of three. Mary graduated from Jr. H.S. 45 in the Bronx and then was employed as an embroiderer. She married her loving husband Herman in New York City on February 8, 1931 and became a homemaker. Herman predeceased her in January 1994. Mary was an avid lover of music and dance and was an accomplished cook. Mary was truly a loving person and she touched many lives. Mary is survived by her daughters Diana and Carol, son-in-law Louis Olori, grandchildren Celeste and Greg, great-grandchildren Kristen, Steven and Celina. Family and friends may visit on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi in West Nyack on Tuesday. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, NY.
