Lorraine E. (Thomas) Davis, 63, formerly of Willow Grove, Pa., died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Glenside, Pa., she was the youngest daughter of the late Daniel and Vera (Bredbenner) Thomas. Lorraine was employed as a secretarial specialist for Children's Medical Services in Daytona Beach until her illness. Known for her infectious wit and laughter, Lorraine leaves behind a close group of family and friends who were devoted and caring as she struggled with her illness. She will always be remembered for her smile, her compassion and kindness for others, her love for her children as well as her love for animals. She is survived by her son, Thomas Harrell of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Kristen Davis and Michelle (Davis) Byrom, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Sean Byrom, of Ormond Beach, and Jacqueline Poli, of Philadelphia, Pa; two nieces, Linda Reilly, Karen Brislin; one great-nephew, Jeffrey Reilly; one great-niece, Brooke Sauerman, and her cat, Tiggy. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra (Thomas) Even in 2001 and two nephews, William Sauerman and Dennis Brislin in 1988. A memorial service for family and friends will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at the First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach, 336 South Halifax Ave., with the Rev. Jay Therrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Counties or Volusia/Flagler Humane Societies.
