WELLS - Loretta C. Johnson, 93, died June 22, 2012, at Rutland Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was born Oct. 2, 1918, in Granville, N.Y., the daughter of John and Myrtle (Hatch) Courter. She graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A.and from University Library School with a B.L.S. in 1941. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. While in Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Johnson was a branch librarian for Hartford Public Library. She was a member of Granville (N.Y.) Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Thure Johnson, in 1973. The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, in Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Granville, N.Y., with the Rev. Jim Peterson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert M. King Funeral Home in Granville, N.Y.
