Hartselle<!--Hartselle-->Mrs. Lillian M. &#8220;Momsie&#8221; Owens, age 86, of Hartselle, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at her residence. She was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Morgan County to Edward &#8220;Ned&#8221; Ezra Cary and Nannie Irene &#8220;Cricket&#8221; Burleson Cary. Mrs. Owens was a member of Fairview Baptist Church of Decatur. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved to sew, crochet and garden. She worked at W.T. Grant in Decatur as Department Manager for many years. Homemaking was her passion. Her husband, J.P. Owens preceded her in death. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Father James Henderson, Dr. Charles Owens and Dr. Ralph Turner officiating. Burial will be in New Friendshiop Cemetery. Visitation will be today at Peck Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. She is survived by a son, Charles Paul &#8220;Pete&#8221; Owens and wife Carol of Hartselle; two daughters, Joan Barbara Turner and husband, Ralph, of Denison, Texas, and Norma Kay Oglesby and husband, Ken, of Hartselle; one brother, Milton L. Cary and wife, Louise of Washington; one sister, Joyce Lee &#8220;Judy&#8221; (Cary) Hawk of California; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Brandon Owens, Jason Owens, Maceon McGee, Chuck Turner, David Turner and Brad Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Cloud, Sean Turner, Eric Grimes and Greg Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Morgan County Humane Society (Lighthouse for Animals).
