Laurent J. Dore August 9, 1906 - October, 18, 2007 PLAINFIELD - Laurent J. Dore, 101, formerly of 32-A Colello Ave. Moosup, beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Albro) Dore died Thursday at Haven Health Care in Jewett City. He was born August 9, 1906 in Moosup the son of the late Emelien and Zelia (Dalbec) Dore and had been a lifelong resident of the community. He was a 1920 graduate of All Hallows School and a 1924 graduate of Plainfield High School. Mr. Dore was employed as a produce manager for 49 years at the former Desaulniers Bros. grocery store. He later worked for Michael's Market in Canterbury, retiring after 17 years. Mr. Dore was active in boy scouting and had been a leader and served as a commissioner for 25 years. He was a life member of The Knights of Columbus, All Hallows Council #270 and a parishioner of All Hallows Church. He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Madeleine A. Dore of Moosup; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one nephew. He was predeceased by a son Richard Dore who died April 10, 2003. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Annette Bonnin and Orianna Bessette. The funeral will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. from Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd., Plainfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Hallows Church, Moosup. Burial will follow in All Hallows Cemetery.
