Kathleen Marie Veronica O'Dea Hogan, September 2, 1947 -September 17, 2008, was a registered nurse for 43 years. She worked in the Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit and most recently in Pre Admission Testing at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in the Bronx. She graduated from the Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing in 1967 where she began her career. She also worked at New Rochelle Hospital and as a school nurse in the Valhalla School System. Kathleen was a resident of Hawthorne, NY for many years as well as Valhalla. Most recently she resided in Pleasantville, NY and Deep River, CT. Her talents included a passion for gardening, decorating and painting; she was a gourmet cook and a masterful hostess. Entertaining family and friends was her delight and she always flavored those gatherings, not only with good food, but with her sense of humor, love, and compassion for all. Kathleen is survived by her husband James J. Hogan III, of Pleasantville, NY, and Deep River, CT. Her son James J. Hogan IV from Boston, MA, daughter Kathryn (Kelly) Dwyer from Fleetwood, NY son-in-law Brian Dwyer and two grandchildren, Brendan and Emma. Calling hours will be held at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, in Hawthorne, NY on Friday September 19, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Interment will be in Deep River, CT on Saturday September 20, 2008 with a Catholic Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church in Chester, CT. with burial at Fountain Hill Cemetery, in Deep River, CT.
