John Thomas "JT" McGowens, 76, of 85 McGowens Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenville County, hewas a son of the late John Robert and Ethel Alice Ferguson McGowens. He was a self-employed carpenter. Survivors: Wife, Doreather McGowens; and sisters, Daisy Bradley and Josephine McBee, both of Greenville, and Lourie McGowens and Maude McGowens, both of Travelers Rest. Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, with burial at Grandview Cemetery. The family is at the home. - Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary.
