Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for John Thomas "Coot" Haney, 75, of Ball Play, who passed away January 19, 2015. Rev. Tommy Hutt will officiate. Burial will follow at Union No. 3 Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the services. Mr. Haney attended Hokes Bluff High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a craftsman and a farmer and was known for his sense of humor, generosity and kind heart. "Coot" Haney was a wonderful brother and friend.Mr. Haney is preceded in death by his parents, HT and Gertrude Haney; and sister, Doris Michael.He is survived by his sister, Gladys (Joel) Reed; nephews, Johnny (Karen) Reed, Randy (Nina) Michael; nieces, Karen (Hideo) Takada and Tammy (John) Bowlin.Pallbearers will be great-nephews.Special thanks to the Ball Play Volunteer Fire Department No. 2.The family will receive friends from noon to time of service Thursday at the funeral home.www.ghbfuneralhome.com
