John McKenna of Shenorock, NY, died on January 5, 2002, at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Peekskill, NY. He was 85. Mr. McKenna worked as an electrician in the car maintenance department for the New York City Transit Authority, retiring in 1978. He was born June 10, 1916, in New York City to Owen and Clare O'Donohue McKenna. Mr. McKenna served in the Army during World War II. He then joined the 71st Regiment of the N.Y. State National Guard. On February 16, 1941, he married Susan Sansone in the Bronx, NY. Mr. McKenna lived in Shenorock for the past 21 years; before that he lived in the Bronx. He is survived by his wife Susan, and three sons, John Jr., Robert & Dr. Kevin McKenna. Family members who died earlier include a daughter, Patricia Ann. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Cargain Funeral Home, 418 Route 6, Mahopac, NY 10541. (845) 628-5655. The Funeral Mass is 11am Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, Croton Falls, NY.
