John J. Connolly, a longtime member of Pelham Manor died Thursday September 19, 2002. Mr. Connolly was retired as a Captain in the New York City Police Department after 30 years. Mr. Connolly was born July 30, 1946 in New York City to John and Kathryn Sheehan Connolly. He earned a BA degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College and an MBA from Pace University. On January 29, 1972 he married Joan Marie Kelly at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Maplewood, NJ. Mr. Connolly lived in Pelham Manor for the past 28 years. Before that, he lived in Bronx, NY. Locally, he was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, served as a soccer coach and referee, associated with the Pelham Weekly newspaper. He is survived by wife Joan M. Connolly, daughters Carolyn, Maureen, and Kathleen Connolly; brother Thomas Connolly and sister Mary Benvenuto. Calling hours are Saturday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at PELHAM FUNERAL HOME.
