John G. Davis, 62, Norman, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Davis attended Kurtz Church of the Nazarene and was in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968. He retired in 2003 from General Motors Corp., Indianapolis, and most recently was employed at Jay C Warehouse in Seymour. Mr. Davis, upon his retirement, enjoyed raising miniature horses on his farm in Norman. Born Jan. 30, 1946, in Washington County, Ohio, he was the son of Lloyd Buell Davis and Mary Ruth Reed, both of whom preceded him in death. On March 4, 1968, in Columbus, Ohio, he married Stella Shamblin, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Lloyd (Lisa) Davis, Princeton; daughter, Crystal (Zack) Paschal, Indianapolis; two brothers, James Davis, Kansas, and Jerry Davis, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Judi (Chuck) Dymond, Tucson, Ariz., and Janet Fridley, Rushville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Danielle Lashbrook, Lafayette, Steven Lashbrook, Princeton, Ashley Armstrong, Gas City, and Daniel Paschal, Indianapolis. The Rev. Chris Breeden will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown. Burial will take place at Kurtz Cemetery.
