WILLIAMS James Franklyn Williams, age 84, of Ansonia, entered into rest on Friday July 20, 2012 in Shelton Lakes Convalescent Center with his family by his side. He was born in Bridgeport on May 8, 1928, son of the late Harold and Laura (Pillans) Williams and was a resident of Bridgeport for most of his life. James was a tool and die maker for many years retiring from Belknap Manufacturing in Bridgeport. He was an Army Veteran serving during W.W.II. James was very involved and dedicated much of his time since 1977 to "The Friends of Bill W". During his years of service he helped thousands of people. He is survived by his loving nephews and nieces, Carl Thorsen, Evelyn Russo, Marjorie Alves, Isabel Mingolello, Carol Ovelgonne, Barbara Johnson, Bill Lawrence, Tom Lawrence, Bill Hubina, Bob Hubina, and Laurie Cummings and many great nieces & nephews. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. His funeral service will be held on Monday in the Funeral Home at 10:00 am with Rev. Leonard Kvedas, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to "The Friends of Bill W" through the funeral home.
