James Frazee Davis 1924-2009 BENNINGTON James Frazee Davis, age 85, a resident of Burgess Road in Bennington died on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.He was born in Williamstown on Mar. 21, 1924 and was the son of the late Eugene Hiram and Charlotte Elizabeth Frazee Davis. James received his education in Williamstown and is a graduate of Williamstown High School in the class of 1942. He married Amonda Jane Quackenbush in Bennington in 1946. James served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, from 1942 and 1945. He further served in the Air Force Reserve until 1965 and had attained the rank of Major. He had worked as a supervisor at Polygraphic for 25 years, and had been employed at Chemfab for several years retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Bennington for 50 years. He was a member of the Bennington Elks Lodge #567 and the American Legion Post #13 in Bennington. He enjoyed skiing and was an avid golfer and long time member of Mount Anthony Country Club of Bennington.Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James Scott and Sharon of Gilford, N.H., and Glenn Michael and Cynthia of Gilford, N.H.; and three grandchildren, Brian Scott Davis of Manchester, N.H., Kyle Lynn Davis Griffin of Gilford, N.H. and Neil Robinson Davis of Gilford, N.H. He also leaves one brother, Eugene C. Davis of Casper, Wyo.; two great-grandsons, Nathan Scott Davis and Owen Mathew Davis, both of Manchester, N.H.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.James is predeceased by brothers, Donald W. Davis, Norman Davis, Willard Robert Davis, John Moore Davis, and Howard Davis. He is also predeceased by one grandson, Timothy Allen Davis.FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 28th, at 1 p.m. at the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St., Bennington, with the Reverend Mary Lee-Clark, officiating.Interment will take privately at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.Memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad or the charity of one's choice through the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.Guestbook condolences may be made at www.maharandsonfuneralhome.net.
