DavisGreenvilleJohn Russell Davis, 78, husband of Carolyn Davis, died August 23, 2011 at his home in Greenville.Born in Morganfield, KY, he was the son of the late John H. and Mildred Davis.John graduated from Georgia Tech in 1956 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He was employed by Square D Company for over forty-three years before he retired from his position as District Manager in 2000.Mr. Davis was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and was a founding board member of the Disciples Methodist Church in Greenville and later was a member of the board at Trinity United Methodist Church in Greenville.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kimberly Davis Demauex of Tampa, FL, Scott Wayne Davis and John Russell Davis, Jr. and wife Nancy Lollis Davis of Greenville; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis and Mary Grace Davis; and his sister, Martha Davis Rosselot of Atlanta, GA.A memorial service will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church.
