HEREFORD, TEXAS/MARION, N.Y. - Isabelle Marie "Izzie" Bushart entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday (December 15, 2014) at the age of 88. A memorial service was held at Kings Manor on Friday (December 19,2014) with the funeral and burial to follow in Marion, N.Y. on Saturday (January 10, 2015) at Second Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Second Reformed Church, PO Box 32, Marion, NY, 14505 or the church of your choice.She was born in Batavia, N.Y. on July 6, 1926 to Clarence and Ella Fuller. She graduated from Alexander High School and Geneseo State Teachers College.Izzie loved children and loved to teach. She taught in Laredo, Texas; Olive Hill, Ky.; Endicott, N.Y. before moving to Marion, N.Y. as an early elementary teacher. It was in Marion she met Stanley Bushart, a widower with two young children, whom she married on June 18, 1954. They added five more children to their family. Izzie was one of the first special education teachers in her area, she earned a masters in special education from Syracuse, ran a nursery school out of her home all while raising her 7 children. The Bushart home was always open to any one in need. Many times extra places were set at the family table for friends, neighbors and the occasional stranger passing through. Izzie was a member of the Second Reformed Church in Marion, N.Y. where she taught children, Vacation Bible School and Adult Sunday School for over 35 years. She moved to Kings Manor Methodist Retirement Home, Hereford Texas, in 2010 where she lived out her final days. She is survived by her children, Karen(Geoff) Hayden, Carmen (Beth) Bushart, Warren (Rev. Barbara) Bushart, all of Marion, N.Y., David (Karen) Marsh of Rochester, N.Y., Ruth (Larry) Eads of Waterloo, N.Y., and Rev. Kevin (Kim) Bushart of Hereford; a sister, Ann (David) Brandon, of Albany, N.Y.; and sister-in-law, Mary Bushart, Sodus, N.Y.; Izzie was the proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition she is survived by a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Stanley; a son, Alan; a grandson, Luke Bushart; one sister, two brothers and her parents.
