Davis,, IrmaJan. 28, 2011 Irma Davis, 91 went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 28, 2011 after a brief battle with lung cancer. A 48-year resident of Sarasota, Fla., Irma moved to Lawrenceville, Ga. in 2009 after losing her husband, Lt. Colonel John R. Davis in Aug.,, 2008. In Sarasota, Irma enjoyed her Tuesday golf with the ladies at Forest Lakes and weekly bridge. When she moved to Georgia, she quickly made friends at Garden Plaza and always had a joke or story ready, as she loved to make people smile. She will forever be remembered for her sunny outlook, her generosity, sense of humor and sweet smile. Irma leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Randy Davis of Buford, Ga.; two granddaughters, Ginny Davis of Athens, Ga., Elizabeth Davis of Houston, Texas; sister, Alice Meyers of Mobile, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at Garden Plaza in Lawrenceville, Ga. on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at 1 p.m., followed by a burial service at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
