AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, January 19, 2009, Mrs. Irene O'Bryant of Cascade Rd. As a native of Augusta, Ga., Irene attended C.T. Walker Grammar School, A.R. Johnson High School and Paine College. She attended and graduated from the Lamar School of Nurs- ing with honors. She enjoyed her nursing career and during her service of 25 years as a registered nurse she received many awards, certificates and accolades. She was an active member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was the director of Calvary's first New Member Orientation Program. Also, she was a member of Calvary's Church School Adult #1 Class, Soul Winning Society Circle, CPA/Senior Mission, Senior Choir and Sanctuary Choir. She was a very active member in the Chi Eta Phi Sorority. Her memory will be cherished by her son, Kelvin Purnell Jackson, Augusta; one brother, Richard (Bertha) Sutton, Jr., Augusta; one aunt, Louise Garrett, Augusta. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. from Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Clyde Hill, Sr., officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens.
