LOWELL - Irene A. (Murtagh) Bourassa, 93, a resident of the Highlands section and formerly a longtime resident of Daytona Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, July 13, in a local nursing home. She was the widow of Omer J. Bourassa.She was born in Sawyerville, Canada, on Dec. 1, 1910, a daughter of the late Robert and Josephine (Boisvert) Murtagh. She attended Lowell schools and graduated from St. Louis Academy.Prior to retiring, Mrs. Bourassa was a seamstress for many years with Belks Department Store.She was a former communicant of Ste. Therese Church in Dracut.She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine M. and Andre Jacques of Lowell, and Carole and John Scott of North Chelmsford; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph R. Bourassa of Daytona Beach, and Donald and Evelyn Bourassa of Hampton, N.H.; a sister-in-law, Eugenie Murtagh of Nashua; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Mrs. Bourassa was predeceased by a son, Norman Bourassa; two great-grandchildren, Richard Bourassa and Michael Jacques; and three siblings, Leo Murtagh, Alice Kane and Blanche Vallerand.
