VAZALINSKAS, Irena (née Cepaityte)1915 – 2015Irena passed away peacefully on December 20, 2015 in Montreal at the age of 100. Irena was predeceased in 1993 by Alfonsas Fabionas, her husband of 53 years. She leaves to mourn her son John, daughter-in-law Irene, granddaughters Edith (Nicholas Cherney) and Sylvia (Gregory Chrenowski) and three great-grandchildren Emily, Noah and Lola. Irena was born in Lithuania where she graduated from an agricultural academy, survived WWII fleeing through Germany with her husband and son and arrived in LaSalle, Quebec in January 1949 where she lived the rest of her life. She was active in the local Lithuanian community and sang alto in her parish choir for almost 60 years. A funeral mass and commemoration will be held at a later date.
