Herve J. PaquinLowell, U.S. Army WWII veteran; 88 LOWELL -- Herve J. Paquin, age 88, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010 at a local healthcare facility in Lowell after a brief illness.He was born in Lowell on December 3, 1921, a son of the late Anthime and Laurette (East) Paquin. Herve was a lifelong resident of Lowell and a communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste and St. Louis de France Parishes.He served in the US Army during WWII.Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Shamrock Liquors of Lowell for 23 years. Earlier in his life, he was a book keeper for Wannalancit Textile for twenty years.Herve was proud of his French Canadian culture and heritage. In 1995, he was honored by the Franco American Community as the Franco American of the Year. He and was a member of the the Franco American Day Committee where he served as President in 1985, the CCA Club, Club Richelieu, the VFW Post 662 in Lowell.He is survived by his two sisters, Therese M. Paquin of Lowell and Sister Alice Paquin, D.W. of Sound Beach NY, his godchildren, Leo Paquin Jr. of Dracut and Louis Paquin of Dunstable, also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Oscar Paquin, Yvonne Sawyer, Cecile Crete, Roland, Lucienne, Rudolphe, Henry and Leo Paquin and also cousin of the late Andre Paquin.PAQUIN -- Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Thursday, July 29 from 6 to 8pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 9 o'clock at Ste.
