Gloria A. Paquin MIDDLEBORO Gloria Ann (Gladu) Paquin, age 105 years, of Middleboro, formerly of Acushnet, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at the Nemasket Health Care Center, Middleboro, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William P Paquin Sr., who predeceased her Feb. 6, 1990. Born in New Bedford, Feb. 10, 1904, daughter of the late Arthur and Rose A. (Provencher) Gladu, she attended St. John Neumann Church, of East Freetown, and previously Our Lady of Fatima Church, in New Bedford. She was a member of the South Middleboro Grange and Sippican Pamona. She enjoyed playing cards, crafts and helping others. Gloria received honor certificates from two presidents, Senator Pacheco, on her 105th birthday, and received a certificate from the town of Middleboro for being its oldest resident. She had been a resident of the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home for the Aged. Survivors include one son, William P Paquin Jr. of Bristol, Conn.; one daughter-in-law, Norma DiCarlo of Lakeville; one sister, Irene Couture of Buffalo, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 21 great great-grandchildren. She was mother of the late Arthur A. Paquin. A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. John Neumann Church, Middleboro Road, East Freetown, Saturday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro, Friday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Hannah B.G.
