GERTRUDE MARGRET HOLMES, 83 LAKELAND - Mrs. Gertrude Margaret Holmes, 83, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 of heart failure. Mrs. Holmes was born December 18, 1929 in Everett, MA, to Laurence and Hazel Murphy. She was a devoted homemaker to her husband and children. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her husband James. She is survived by two sons James Frank Holmes, of Methuen, MA, and Alan Gerard Holmes of Windham, NH; one daughter, Donna Caros of New Port Richey, FL; three sisters, Carolyn Murphy, Wrentham, MA, Lillian Castellano, Boston and Sarah Wazlowski, New Bedford, MA; and 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday January 28, 2013 6-8pm at Lakeland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Tuesday January 29, 2013 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel. A committal service will take place at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, at 1:00pm. Lakeland Funeral Home.
