Walker1935 - 2014On June 23, 2014 our Heavenly Father called home his beloved Mrs. Frances LaNeta Walker, to be reunited with the many loved ones that have gone on before her. Frances was 78 years old, born September 4, 1935, in Chicora Mississippi. She married the love of her life, Coma " Garrett" Walker, in 1955. She then moved with him to his home town of Grove Hill, Alabama, creating 5 beautiful children. In 1971 the family moved to Pensacola, Florida where they would reside happily together, Frances being the ever faithful and dedicated wife and mother raising her children and showing an unwavering love and strong commitment to her husband. After 54 years together, her world forever changed, on January 28, 2009 when the Lord called Frances' true love, Coma Garrett home leaving her here with a broken heart she could not recover from.She was also preceded in death by her father and mother, John Ernest Jordan and Louis Skipper Jordan, a son, Coma Garrett Walker Jr. (Bubba), and two brothers Fred Jordan and John Ernest Jordan Jr.Memories of her life will be forever cherished by her remaining four children, two sons, Al Walker and Kevin (Cheri) Walker and two daughters, Shelia Walker and Michelle (Mack) DuBose. Two brothers Ira (Molly) Jordan and J.T. (Rose) Jordan. And the only sister she ever had Polly Chestnut.She was blessed to become the "Nanny" to 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, loving them all and enjoying every moment that she could be spend with them.Frances also found great joy in people and just making friends and being very social. So when she went to work in 1988 at Wal-Mart/Hwy 29, it brought her great happiness being able to talk with so many people every day. She was known and loved by many just from talking with them in Wal-Mart as she helped them. She never met a stranger, and continued her work there at Wal-Mart 14 years.Frances has resided at Pensacola Health Care Facility for the past 10 months, where she was able to once again become very social. Loving all her new friends and interaction! The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff there for the loving care and compassion that she was shown while under their care, also a special thank you to Mr. Bobby Cannon, who treated her as a second mother, sharing a coke and a smile almost every day Frances was there.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 27, 20014 at 12:30 pm in the Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Louis Burghard officiating. Entombment will follow at Pensacola memorial Gardens. The family will receive family and friends Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
