CLARK, Frances JoanFrances Joan Clark (nee Fisher) passed away surrounded by family on April 25, 2013. She died the way she lived, with great dignity and little fuss.She was born on August 19, 1937, in a log cabin near Cochrane, Alberta, to Viola and Bud Fisher. The Fishers later moved to Edmonton where Frances completed high school at Strathcona High and then went on to graduate from the University of Alberta in 1958 with a Bachelors of Commerce degree. This was a rare and significant achievement for that time, and she was very proud of her accomplishment. Frances married in 1958 and raised three children while working at Derrick Dodge in the finance department. Frances and her family moved to Boyle, Alberta in 1973 where she continued to raise her children and work extremely hard to ensure the farm ran smoothly. In later years Frances worked at the Boyle Library, Athabasca University and ALPAC. After her retirement she volunteered her time and experience with the Boyle Healthcare Auxiliary, fundraising to help improve patient care at the Boyle Hospital. She was also involved in the many activities at the Boyle Seniors Drop-in Center including organizing teas, making perogies and playing crib. Frances was the center of her family and was much loved. Frances is survived by her brothers Morris and Marlin, her sister Hazel, her daughters Twila (Grant) and Tanya (Ralph), her son Scott (Jennie) and her seven grandchildren Trevor, Chelsea, Justin, Erich, Justin, Alexandra, Chantelle and Jordan. She will be thought of often and missed very, very much.As Frances requested there will be no Funeral Service. Her children will be holding a memorial tea in her memory at the Boyle Seniors Drop-In Center on Friday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. All of her friends and family are welcome.
