Avis de décès de Faye-Joann Cox

Faye Joann (Beck) Cox, 5/18/1933 - 11/19/2002, the loved daughter of Walter and Evelyn Beck; older sister to Robert Beck; beloved wife of Kenneth F. Cox; proud mother of Kenneth D., Clifford D., Gregory D., Pamela J. Cox and Lisa M. Bailey; cherished grandmother to Shaun and Nikki Cox, Jackie, Brian and Christopher Cox, Charles VanHarkness, Christopher Shook, Sancho and Sonja Hernandez, and Bria and Remy Bailey; and great-grandmother to Isabella Hernandez. Faye Cox was born in West Allis, Wis., during the Great Depression, and graduated from high school there. She chose marriage and motherhood over college and was married to Kenneth Cox in 1952. They raised their five children in the city of Milwaukee, Wis., between 1954 and 1972. There, Faye attended church and bible studies and taught Sunday School to children. She was very active with the Christian Youth Organization and her church's summer program. She was devoted to her marriage and children and they attended church regularly as a family. During these years Fay also worked at a school cafeteria and as a secretary. In 1972, she and her family moved to Indiana briefly, then returned to Oconomowoc, Wis., where she studied and taught Catholic philosophies to all ages. Faye had a deep faith in God, which she loved to share with her family and friends. Faye and Ken moved to Sidney, Ohio, from 1979 to 1982, where she regained the love of golf, taught to her by her father. She and Ken then moved to Black Mountain, N.C., where Faye was very active at St. Margaret Mary's Church. There, she ran the Depot Craft Store, played golf and served as president of Black Mountain Woman's Golf Association and worked at MANA Food Bank. Faye and Ken then moved to Dousman, Wis., in 1996 to prepare for their retirement years. Faye worked at Accents Unlimited, where she was an excellent picture framer and worked at crafts she had learned years earlier. In 2001, Faye and Ken retired to Salem, and here they built (completed) their dream log home on Lake Keowee in 2001. Faye was a wonderful lady, was kind to all she met and knew, and is dearly loved by her family and friends. She loved animals, especially Black Labrador Retrievers, the outdoors, camping, swimming, hiking, traveling, sports (both playing and as a spectator), movies and a good cup of hot tea. She was very talented as a painter and in many other crafts, but especially at knitting and needlework. Faye was a very positive, optimistic person with deep morals and values. She battled an illness for 15 years and never complained about it, but enjoyed her time. She has now passed on to claim her life's rewards as her family and friends try to understand why such a fine person had to leave us far too soon! Memorial Service to be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 200 Edgewood Ave., Clemson, Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at 11 a.m. The entire family would like to extend deep thanks and appreciation to the ambulance attendants, CCU staff and nurses, assistants and technicians from Fourth Floor at Oconee Memorial Hospital, and especially to Dr. Parker. - Courtesy of Cremation Society of South Carolina.
