Florence Z. Williams (nee Zielinski) of Yonkers died on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at age 84. Born on July 22, 1922 to Martin and Sofia (Bonar) Zielinski in Yonkers where she was raised and graduated from Commerce High School. Mrs. Williams worked as a Secretary-Bookkeeper for various companies in Yonkers. In 1943 she married John R. Williams Jr.in St. Bartholomew's Church; he died in 1980.She remained a parishioner of St. Bartholomew's and was a volunteer member of SMART (Students and Mature Adults Reading Together). She also was the recipient of the Mary E. Holte Award for her community service in Yonkers in May 2006. Florence is survived by her two sons; John R. Williams of South Salem and Robert E. of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her brother Edmund Zielinski of Yonkers and two sisters Gertrude and Eleanor Zelin. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters; Frank, John, Walter, Ted, Mary Koziol, Catherine Konetchy and Josephine Bozeman. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen and Ball F.H. on Monday, February 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Bartholomew's Church on Tuesday, February 20th at 10 am.
