FLORENCE McGEE, 84Kathleen Elem. School KATHLEEN - Florence McGee, 84, a lifelong resident of Kathleen and Lakeland, passed away Nov. 18, 2013 due to complications of a fall. Florence worked for many years in the cafeteria of Kathleen Elementary School, and was an avid and devoted member of the Kathleen Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member. She loved traveling with her senior group, reading, taking trips to the beach, and spending time with family, grandkids and great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband Owen in 2006, and is survived by her daughters, Jacki Caruthers and husband Steve, Jan Rutledge and husband Don, and Lisa Ball and husband Keith; her sisters Jean Mumbauer and LaVonne O'Neal; seven grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 2:00 pm at Kathleen Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Socrum Cemetery. Friends are invited to the visitation at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The family has requested that donations be made to the Kathleen Baptist Church Building and Land Fund.
