Sher was born in Somerset, Ohio on March 3, 1930. Florence graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1948. She married her loving husband of 60 years, Robert, on August 18, 1951. Florence was a loving housewife and mother for 60 years. She worked as a cashier for the Newark City Schools for 10 years. She was a Eucharistic Minister at Blessed Pope John XXIII Catholic Church where she took the Eucharist to local nursing homes and the homebound. Sher is survived by her husband Robert W. Marshall of Fort Myers, her children Ann Short (Marshall) of Estero, Chris and Angela Marshall of Birmingham, Alabama, Mary (Marshall) and Steve Yanka of Cape Coral, and Julie (Marshall) and Tyler Kohl of Newark, Ohio. She is also survived by multiple grandchildren, James and Sandra Short of Phoenix, Arizona, Brian and Missy Short of Estero, Jenifer and Shawn Novo of Cape Coral, Robert and Elizabeth Shane of Fort Myers, Joseph Yanka of Cape Coral, Mara and Nicholas Kohl of Newark, Ohio, Kate and Robert Marshall of Birmingham, Alabama and one great grandson, Elias Jacobs of Estero, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Blessed Pope John XXIII Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, Florida 33912. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Memory of Florence to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908, (239) 489-9147.
