Evelyn Alice Armstrong, 90, of Syracuse, the daughter of the late William and Georgia Kolb of Watertown, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Rock Hill, SC. Mrs. Armstrong received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital in 1944. She retired in 1988 from Plaza Skilled Nursing after 15 years of employment and had been a nurse for 42 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew W. Armstrong who died in 1980. Mrs. Armstrong is survived by her daughters, Elaine Romano, Laura Haile, Elizabeth (Jay) Britschge; her sons, Robert, George (Sue), William (Paula) Armstrong; a brother, Ted Kolb; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services are Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral Chapel. The family will greet friends after the service at the Church.
