Emily McCoy Adams, 86, native of Damascus, Ga., entered into eternal rest June 19, 2008 at the Ponce de Leon Care Center. Mrs. Adams attended local schools and graduated from Excelsior High School. She was employed by both St. Augustine General Hospital and Flagler Hospitals. She was active member of her Sunday school and usher board at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church before moving her membership to Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Deaconess Board. She was a life member of the Elks Lodge. She leaves to cherish her memory numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends, including her caregiver and nephew, Col. Walter D. McCoy, Palm Coast, Fla. A service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Richard A. Madison officiating. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at Chase Chapel. Leo C. Chase and Son Funeral Home is in charge.
