Memorial service for Elizabeth (Betty) Smith, 92, of Holly Ave., Holly Hill, who died July 1, 2006, at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial, will be Saturday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at the Union Congregational Church, 1050 Daytona Ave., with the Rev. Donald E. Steedly officiating. Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 9, 1914, in Michigan City, Ind., and moved to Holly Hill in 1963. Her husband, LeRoy L. Smith, passed away in 1973. She was employed by the Hughes Supply Co. as a bookkeeper for 15 years and retired in 1979. Betty joined the Union Congregational Church in 1977 and was an active member. She served as a deacon and sang in the choir. She is survived by a nephew, William W. Petynia, Albuquerque, N.M.; two great-nieces, Barbara Holly, League City, Texas, and Janice Moody, Palm Harbor; two great-great-nephews, Kenneth and Daniel Moody, both of Palm Harbor; close friends, Debi and Ivo Gazic, Holly Hill. In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests donations be made to Union Congrega-tional Church, 1050 Daytona Ave., Holly Hill, FL 32117.
