Elizabeth S. Humphrey Marcy Elizabeth S. Humphrey, 82, died suddenly on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at her home. She was born on April 4, 1926, in Utica, a daughter of the late Franklin and Helen Beck Stooks. She graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1943. Elizabeth married Allen P. Humphrey on July 27, 1946, and he died on September 30, 1997. She and her husband owned and operated Humphrey Oil Co., Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1983. Elizabeth was a member of the Stittville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Marcy Chambers of Commerce, Utica Post #220 American Legion and Marcy and Floyd Seniors. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Charles and Audrey Humphrey of Constableville, Marion and Norbert Seavey of Holland Patent, Carol and Mark Canter of Marcy, David and Denise Humphrey of Canastota, Helen and Duane Roser of Marcy, and Dorothy and Michael Herbowy of Havana, FL; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be on Wednesday at 10:00 at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main St., Whitesboro. Interment will be in Carr Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00, prior to the funeral. Family and friends kindly consider the Maynard Fire Department in memory of Elizabeth.
