Betty Jane (Leahy) Murray, 92, of Liverpool passed away peacefully on Saturday at Elderwood in Liverpool. She was a native of Syracuse and graduated from St. Anthony of Padua High School. Betty had worked for 39 years in government, the last 29 years as secretary to the Director of the VA Hospital here in Syracuse. She was a communicant of both Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and The Cathedral of the Immaculate of the Conception. She loved working with people. Betty also volunteered for years at the Catheral church office. Both family and friendship were very important to her, she loved working with people and was always smiling and telling people "to just have fun". Betty was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Murray in 2004. Survivors include her two brothers, George (Alice) Leahy of Portland, ME and John (Ellen) Leahy of Liverpool, NY; five nieces, Noreen, Cathy, Amy, Eileen and Betsy; and two nephews, George Leahy and John Leahy. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial: Assumption Cemetery.
