In Edward Garvey's Book, "The New Appalachian", a page has been dedicated to Edna's life in Melrose and on the trail. She was so proud to be mentioned. Of the many new articles about Edna's escapades, the article written by local author, Al Burt, in 1980 was the one in which she was the most proud.
