ROCK -->Dorothy Mundy Goodwin ROCK HILL, SC-- Mrs. Dorothy Mundy Goodwin, 91, of Rock Hill, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009 at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill. A native of Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Goodwin was the daughter of the late Alexander Houston Mundy and Addie Webb Bolick Mundy. She was married to the late Howard Houston Goodwin, a businessman in Spartanburg, SC. A loving wife and mother, she enjoyed life and appreciated its beauty. She was an expert seamstress and an accomplished musician. She was a joy to those who heard her sing and play the organ or the ukelele, an expression of her fun-loving and playful nature. She inspired others as a positive woman of faith. She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Sheridan Hills Baptist Church in Hollywood, FL. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Gwendolyn Gladwell of Marietta, GA and Betty Jean Carswell of Hendersonville, NC; four sons, Robert Houston Goodwin of Tucker, GA, William Howard Goodwin of Fort Mill, SC; Stephen Lamar Goodwin of Murphy, NC, and Philip Alexander Goodwin of Kannapolis, NC; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Dr. Ernest Carswell officiating. Graveside services will be 4:00 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road in Spartanburg. Family will receive friends from 3:30 PM until time of service. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation for the wonderful, loving care given her by the staff of White Oak Manor.
