CLARK, Dorothy Mae 1927 2007 Dorothy Mae Clark passed away peacefully in her home on Friday June 15, 2007. Dorothy is survived by her son Lee; his wife Sandy; granddaughter Courtney; and many nieces, nephews and relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Jim; son Scot; daughter Heather; and grandson Mitchell. Born and raised in Calgary, Dorothy had only recently returned to Alberta after having spent the past twenty-five years happily retired on Vancouver Island with her husband and best friend of more than fortyfive years, Jim. Having survived cancer in the late 1970's, Dorothy and Jim lived life to the fullest, enjoying their passion for golf and travel. Dorothy was a true pioneer spirit. Unlike most women of her era, she possessed a keen interest for business, initially working at the Alberta Stock Exchange and the RCAF Air Command before meeting her husband and future business partner. Together they raised two sons and founded numerous successful businesses, primarily in the office supply field. Amongst her adventures was a move to Grande Prairie to homestead and later farm before returning to Calgary. Dorothy was a member of the Calgary and Grande Prairie Shrine Clubs, Daughters of the Nile". She also remained active in the development of the Crystal Lake Community in Grande Prairie. Having been predeceased by her husband for more than nine years, in our hearts we know that she is truly happy and surrounded by all those who love her.
