FARMINGTON ; Doris A. Davis, 72, of Chestnut Hill Road in Farmington, died June 21, 2008, at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover.Born Feb. 15, 1936, in Manchester, daughter of the late Frank and Jeannette (Paris) Messier, she had grown up in Alton and resided the past 15 years in Farmington.Prior to retirement, she was employed as a mail clerk with the U.S. Postal Service.She is survived by three sons, Dale Davis and Gary Davis, both of Utah, and Clayton W. Davis of Farmington; three daughters, Erla S. Davis of Connecticut, Doreen A. Davis of Utah, and Michelle F. Bemis of Alton; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilfred Messier of Alton, and two sisters, Francine Lehman of Florida, and Carol Varnish of Connecticut; also several cousins, nieces, nephews and her ex-husband, Mahlon W. Davis of Farmington. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 25 at 6 p.m. at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School St., in Alton.
