->AUGUSTA -- Doris C. Boucher, 83, of Augusta passed away at the Augusta Rehabilitation Center on Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, after a long illness.She was born in Augusta on April 20, 1923, the daughter of Eugene and Josephine (Corriveau) Labbe, who had migrated to the U.S. from Canada at an early age. Doris was employed for 40 years as a spinner at Bates Manufacturing Co. After retiring from Bates, Doris worked at MaineGeneral for several years.Doris was known for her crafts and sold many of her items at local craft shows. She always smiled and had a great sense of humor. She was a person with a gentle, patient manner and a great work ethic.Mrs. Boucher was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred Boucher, in August of 1975.She is survived by two daughters, Connie Chafin and her husband, Don, of Virginia, and Lorraine Rivard and her husband, David, of Augusta; four sons, Ron and his wife, Cindy, of Vassalboro, Ken and his wife, Linda, of Readfield, Jerry of Ontario, Canada, and Paul of Saco; an older sister, Denise Poulin of Benton; a younger brother, Neal and his wife, Gloria, of Chelsea; two younger sisters, Joan Dostie and her husband, Leo, of Rockland, and Lucille Marcoux and her husband, Bob, of Winslow; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends may visit 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Church, the Rev. William Modelin, celebrant. Burial will follow at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.www.khrfuneralhomes.com
