NEWFIELDS — David L. Williams, 70, of Dixon Avenue, died suddenly November 25, 2011 at his home in Newfields.Born March 11, 1941 in Utica, NY, he was the son of Joseph C. and Bertha Rose (Peck) Williams. He attended Newmarket High School and had lived in Newfields for 47 years.David worked for the Water Treatment Plant in the Town of Durham for 30 years, retiring in 2001. For the past few years he has been employed at Sagamore Golf Course.David loved spending time with his great granddaughter Makalah. He was an avid trout fisherman.He was a member of Lamprey Aerie #1934, F.O.E. of Newmarket.Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Elaine (Renner) Williams; 2 daughters, Karen Pratt and Lisa Ellison both of Newmarket; 4 grandchildren, David Shane Williams of Newfields, Joshua Pratt of Newmarket, Robbie Ellison of Newmarket, and Kalie Williams of Newmarket; Great Granddaughter, Makalah; 3 brothers, Peter (Jerry) Williams of Utica, NY, Edward G. Williams of Denver, Colorado, and Robert J. Williams of Plymouth, NH; his best friend and sister-in-law, Cheryl Murray of Newfields; many nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, from 4-7 p.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket.A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Elm Street, Newmarket.Visit www.fosters.com/obits for an online guest book.
