Dorothy W. Clark OCEAN GROVE - Dorothy W. Clark, 98, of Ocean Grove passed away on Nov. 15, 2010, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. She was born and raised in Beverly, NJ. She married her husband, Frank H. Clark, in 1940 and moved to Trenton. Dorothy graduated from Trenton State College and taught nursery school, kindergarten and mostly first grade for over 30 years in Trenton. Teaching young children was a great joy to her and she was an excellent teacher who was loved by everyone. When she retired she and her husband moved to their summer home in Ocean Grove and wintered at their home in Largo, FL. She was a talented pianist and gave freely of her talent by volunteering at her church, the Neptune Medicenter, Neptune Public Schools and other organizations. She also volunteered for the food pantry and vacation Bible school at St. James Episcopal Church. Dorothy was named "Volunteer of the Year" for the state of NJ in 2004 and a party was given in her honor at the Taj-Mahal in Atlantic City. Dorothy was a beautiful person inside and out was loved by all for her beautiful smile, upbeat personality, generosity and she was an inspiration to everyone. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Gibbons and her husband, Richard; her grandsons, David, Kevin and Jonathan; a niece and nephew and many friends. A service will be held on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Ely Funeral Home, 3316 Highway 33, Neptune, NJ 07753. The entombment will follow immediately after the service at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monmouth and Ocean County Food Bank in her memory.
