Charles F. Williams of Vauxhall, N.J., went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 27, 2011, in New York, N.Y., after a long illness. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 5 Hilton Ave., Vauxhall, N.J. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of services. Arrangements are in the loving care of the Nesbitt Funeral Home, 165 Madison Ave., Elizabeth, N.J. A lifelong resident of Vauxhall, in his early years, Charles was employed by the Vauxhall Chicken Market, and acquired the nickname Chicken Charlie. He also worked for Drew Funeral home as a pallbearer. For 38 years, he was employed with the township of Union where he worked in the Sewer Department as a supervisor until his retirement in 2000. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Crystal Mason and Carmella Williams; one son-in-law, Raymond E. Mason; three grandchildren, Monique R. Williams, Raymond E. Mason III and Brittany T. Mason; family matriarch, Muriel Rose Williams; father-in-law, Julian Edward Freeman; sisters, Dorothy Hall, Anna Cole and Jenny Fuller; and brothers, Raymond Williams and Harry Williams. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Lawrence; a brother, Elmer John Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
