Carolyn Sue (Schmidtlein) Brock, 69, a life long resident of Springfield, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in her home. She was born April 11, 1937, in Springfield, Missouri, to Matthew A. and Anna Christine (Fassnight) Schmidtlein. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jack one daughter, Jennifer and two grandchildren, Charity and Matthew. Carolyn is survived by her three daughters, Anna Marie VanBuskirk, Paula Ahearn, and Dena Berthelette eight grandchildren nine great- grandchildren and her sister, Betty Schmidtlein-Savage. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006, in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Denis Dougherty, O.S.B. celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut.
