SHAFTSBURY -- Carolyn R. Johnson, 81, a resident of Elm Street, Shaftsbury, died on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Carolyn was born in Hartford, Conn., on June 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Carl W. and Daisy (Carlson) Johnson.Carolyn attended school in Staten island, N.Y., and graduated as a registered nurse from Swedish Covenant School of Nursing in Chicago, Ill. She had worked for 35 years at the Staten Island Hospital and at Eger Nursing Home also in Staten Island.She is survived by her three brothers, Dr. Donald Johnson and wife Dotty of Bloomfield, Conn., Mr. Carl R. Johnson of Greenville, S.C., and Mr. Howard E. Johnson and wife Bergljot of Mashpee, Mass.; two nieces, seven nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.Her urn will be buried during a family graveside service held at the Johnson family lot in Zion Hill Cemetery in Hartford, Conn., in the spring.
