Charles D. Williams, 54, of Port Orange passed away on March 1, 2010. A prayer service will be held on Thursday (today), March 4, 2010 at 7:15 pm in the chapel of the Lohman Funeral home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, 761- 1100. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 pm until the service. He was born May 20, 1955 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Charles graduated from Mainland High School in 1973 and he is the former owner of Charlie's Comfort Air in South Daytona. Charles also graduated from the American Motorcycle Institute. He was a Technical Diver and was instrumental in the construction of the artificial reef off the Daytona Beach coast. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Elizabeth of Port Orange; his parents, Charles and Linda Williams of Ormond Beach; two daughters, Cynthia Williams-Owen of South Daytona and Joy Williams of Port Orange; two sons, Steven Meese of Port Orange and Phillip Meese of Mt. Dora; his sister, Ellen Hulleman of Bowling Green, Ky. Also 6 loving grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in memory of Charles to the Saint Barbara Philoptochos Society, 129 N. Halifax avenue, Daytona Beach FL 32118.
