Catherine Hamilton Carey, 96, of Dover Plains, NY, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT. A 28 year resident of Dover Plains, Mrs. Carey was a member of the Tally Ho Association, the South Amenia Friendship Center and the Amenia-Wassaic Senior Citizens. Born August 11, 1908 in Floral Park, NY she was the daughter of the late George and Eda Booth Shumway. She was predeceased by her husbands Harry Hamilton and Frank Carey and two sons Neal Hamilton and Bruce Hamilton. She is survived by her daughter Susan Gelman of Nanuet, NY, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Main Street, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will be held at 8 PM on Friday evening at the Funeral Home with the Rev. David Billings officiating. Interment will take place Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Queens, NY.
